THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES IN SPAIN - WHERE CAN YOU FIND THEM?

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES IN SPAIN - WHERE CAN YOU FIND THEM?
11 Sep

An average of 190,000 Czechs travel to Spain every year (last year the numbers were naturally much lower). What are they looking for in this southern country? Apart from sunny weather, sights, tapas and bullfighting, of course, especially the sea and beautiful beaches.

Spain is rightly proud of these: the Blue Flag, which denotes clear water and excellent service, flies over more than 600 Spanish beaches, making it a world leader. Here's where to go for the best beaches.

SAN JUAN BEACH

Alicante's Costa Blanca offers a beautiful, long sandy beach, azure seas and a lively atmosphere with activities of all kinds. If you're a fun-loving person who doesn't mind the presence of other tourists, San Juan Beach is perfect for you. The gently shelving sea and fine sand are ideal for young children, while the wide range of activities will keep older children entertained.

DEL CHARCO BEACH

Not looking for a popular beach full of bars? At Alicante, near the town of Villajoyosa, you'll find the almost two-kilometre-long pebble beach del Charco hidden in a cove. The crystal clear water and rich fauna guarantee great diving conditions. The more demanding accessibility guarantees a minimum of other visitors. The 17th century Torre de Charco tower towers over the beach, adding to the uniqueness of the place. The cliffs below the tower are a safe place to explore the underwater world.

BEACH DEL GRANADELLA

Another hidden beach around Alicante, hidden behind the Mediterranean pines, is Granadella. The pebbles and steeper water entrance are not suitable for small children, but the natural caves and rocky bottom make it ideal for snorkelling. The unassuming beach is reached by steps carved into the rocks, and there's a bar where they'll be happy to prepare fresh seafood or a refreshing drink.

BEACH DE BOLONIA

On the Costa de la Luz in Andalusia you'll find a unique natural landmark, the de Bolonia sand dune beach. It's quite long (about 4 km), so it doesn't get crowded despite the high number of visitors.

DE MÓNSUL BEACH

This beautiful beach, where scenes from famous films such as Indiana Jones were filmed, belongs to the Cabo de Gata Nature Reserve. It is distinguished from the other beaches by its volcanic remains: rocks and lava deposits scattered all around. Fine sand, trees and clear water make this peaceful place a paradise for lovers of peace and nature.

TAMARIU

Who doesn't know the Costa Brava! The stretch between Palamós and Cadaqués belies the idea of ubiquitous celebrations, noise and exuberance. Here you will find quiet sandy beaches with the clearest water in the Mediterranean and small coves that offer a wonderful atmosphere and genius loci.
